hi. ive recently bought a r reg audi a6 1.8t. it has had the water in footwell problem so i am off tomorrow to get a 2nd hand ccu and also vag-com lead is ordered so hopefully i can get the electric windows and central locking working again. my questions are,
    1. what else does the ccu control? as i have no interior lights, reading lights etc, also my radio has very poor reception and my climate control is blinking its lights on and off however the heater still works fine.
    2. what can cause a horrible wobble when braking? from any speed, its as though the abs has kicked in and it feels to be coming from the front passenger side.
    3. finally if i have no boost? am i right in thinking i should change the n75 valve as i have already changed the airflow meter for a known good 1 with no fix.
i have searched for a few days now but couldnt fnd the answers i was wanting so thats why i am writing this
    thanks for any help
    sam

    1. The CCU covers nearly everything you have mentioned! And they aren't all the same. You will need to check some part numbers. Ensure the problem is fixed before putting the new CCU in there, the most likely cause was the drain holes beneath the battery tray.

    2. As Niall says.

    3. Could be a few things. Has it been serviced lately? If you have access to diagnostic equipment then it is worth putting it on there, because not every fault puts a light on your dashboard. The diagnostic test may answer your problem.

    Regarding 3...

Is there any black smoke on start-up? That's normally the early sign of turbo failiure.

thanks for the replys, yeah the battery was swamped but the drain holes have been sorted now. new discs and pads is it. i'm waiting for the diagnostic lead coming in the post so hopefully thatll give me a few clues about its running problem, as i havnt noticed any blue smoke.
when the ignition is switched on does the engine management light come on as it does on vauxhalls etc then go out when started? just mine doesnt have the light on the dashboard

When I turn the ignition on (A6 2000 2.4 SE), all the dashboard lights come on, then they go off as the engine is started (or within a few seconds)

Unfortunately I have no information to tell you if it will fit. But the part numbers start with an A at the end when the model first comes out, then over time Audi modify the parts slightly and then call it B, C and so on. So the H one you have is a newer one than your original. It may fit, but it may not. I don't know.
