    Hey,
I am looking to buy a new Audi A3 TDI and am unsure whether it's worth spending an extra £1500ish to get the 2.0 TDI as opposed to the 1.9. Although only 100CC difference the 2L does have a higher BHP at 140 compared to 105 for the 1.9. Has anyone driven both? Could you offer me advice to whether it's worth spending the bit extra? Thanks for your help,
    Cheers
    Dan

Hi, I honestly dont really think you should be debating this.

A 105bhp diesel is a decent car. It's not going to pin you to your seat but its a decent motor for everyday driving. The 140 brake 2.0L is a different car all together will a load of mid range torque to match.

With a 140bhp diesel, imagine your on an A road...and you come onto it at 30mph...and you want to get into the fast lane and up to about 60...(as you sometimes do...)

Well yeah, 30-60 is going to be lightning in that thing. MUCH more faster than the 1.9L.

And yeah...I really think for the sake of 1500, its worth it...

Ive been in golf 2.0 TDI with 150bhp and it was powerful...to say the least!

Does the new 1.9TDI not come with 130BHP as the older shape did?

If not I'd go for the 140BHP

if thats the case...get the 130 tdi and get it chipped from about £250..then you'll have about 155bhp and you save £1250....

Cheers for the advice, I think the older Audi 1.9 was 130 bhp but now they've brought it down to 105 on the new models. Maybe it's to encourage you to go for the 2 litre...

In that case I'd go for the 140 Good luck with the purchase.

I've only had mine for a couple of days and love it to pieces. 1.9TDI 130bhp Quattro

The quattro system is fantastic, I'm sure the dealer I bought it from didn't know what he had, as I've just looked through the available options list and my car seems to have most of them fitted. It was sold to me without any of them listed

yeah ive been in the 2.0T a3 quattro and its beautiful..

the power just feels so much better. No FWD pull...No RWD push...just pure power from all 4 corners of the car...

alternatively, you could spend abit more and get nearer 180hp from your 130 tdi, eg, such as a revo remap.
