I suppose the cat or exhaust partially blocked is another possibility...

Did VW replace any of the leak off pipes or the blanking cap on the injectors as this can sometimes lead to air getting into the fuel system and causing a slight misfire on starting. These pipes don't always look damp with fuel if there's a leak.

I am unsure if VW replaced these pipes, I was informed that they had replaced the injectors so can only presume that these pipes were renewed at the same time.

I did myself renew these pipes sometime back when i first had a misfire on one cylinder. The problem now though is an overall rough running and not a misfire as i had previously had.

I will take a look though to see if all looks ok, they do look ok though and are not that old.

    Hello.
Partially block gause filter in the diesel pump inlet banjo restricting the fuel flow? OK at light loads and on tick over but not enough fuel under load. Worth a look.
