    hi i have a mark 4 golf gti a 3dr, the boot is jammed and wont open, when pressing the lock and unlock button on the remote fob you do hear some kind of movement from the boot area, but it doesnt unlock, is there any way i can open the boot from inside the car?, p.s. the key doesnt work either it just spins around?,

    any help as usual is greatly appreciated guys

    Fold down the seats, get into the boot and remove the plastic trim on the bootlid. You should be able to see the release rod on the boot solonoid, pull it and the boot should open.

    hi thanks euroslap i opened it all up after breaking a few clips here and there, i have managed to open the boot, the lock catch was jammed or deadlock after jibbing a screw driver in a few times it started to work again, Thanks guys now its bang on!

    Nice one, I'd lube the mechanism before you put it back together (ie. spray grease).
