i thought advisory notes are for things that arent obvious, not a lit warning light, but audi airbag lights dont come and go by themselves they need resetting
if he was dodgy or trying to hide the fact car was accident repaired he'd of probably disabled bulb
i bought my avant with airbag light on then invested in vagcom after paying audi to clear it the first time

The million dollar question :- should the airbag light deter me from buying this car - given that its got a years MOT and just been serviced, inc a brand new battery?

Or should I wait for a better example?

    Thanks again for the help

Why the car has details changed from petrol to diesel ? Was there a mistake in the logbook or the car has been converted from petrol to diesel ? However, if the car looks genuine to you and all VIN numbers add up and you happy with the way it looks and drive , why dont you go for it or get an good mechanic to inspect it propperly ?

Should I be worried about the "both rear wheel bearings have slight play"?

    How long until they sieze?

I've asked if I can go and have another drive IF it doesn't sell today.

On cars where the wheel bearing/s are wearing out there is usually a noise well before any seizures. My Mondial has had a similar advisory on the last MOT. I would not worry too much but it will be a job that needs doing possibly within the next 12 months.

You know if you are not 100% sure then don't buy it . We can advise you but at the end of the day it will be your car and your problems (if there are any).

    It's a Mercedes Benzzzz though

Trust me when the wheel bearing goes you,ll know about it it is the worst noise you can hear coming from your car! They are pretty cheap to do £20-£30 a wheel so no huge problem there

Airbag light on may need resetting if the battery was replaced and sat a long time with out a battery my Astra did it over the winter so I got it re-set (Mine also showed up with brake warning and I had them replaced so knew nothing was wrong)

But go with your gut instinct sounds ok to me and in all honesty I would not be bothered about airbag light as I have had a couple of cars have the light come on when I have owned them and I know it had not been in accident.

If the HPI came up clear it could always have been unrecorded just do the normal checking the gaps/welds/seatbelts to see if they the retainers have been replaced as if it has been in an accident a red tag will show from the bottom.
