    Default 2.6 quattro replacement cat/exhaust – 27-09-2008,05:37 PM
    My '94 quattro avant has a raspy, rattly sound coming from the exhaust. I'd stake my house on it being a failure with one or both of the cats, as this is where the noise is coming from. Took it into a well known fast fit place and they have quoted me over £1400 and advised a full, new system. (surprise, surprise!)
    Is it possible just to replace the faulty cats as the exhaust is otherwise in great nick, no holes etc And what would be a reasonable price for this?

    hmm, pretty quiet thread! anyway, cheapest price i got to replace the full syatem was £1350 and a wait of 6-8 weeks as this exhaust is now obsolete.
    So, instead after a bit of bartering, I got my a local garage to make me a bespoke stainless steel twin cat system for £500!
