    Hi all

First post here, my nephew managed to hit a high kerb in a 2004 Polo. It was the engine support/ crossmember that hit the kerb it is damaged very slightly. Strange thing was the curtain airbag on the drivers side went off and possibly the tensioner in the passeneger side seat belt. Funny thing is power steering is gone too. I had car on ramp and no obvious damage to rack or electrical connection to it and no fluid loss.
Disconnected battery for half an hour and re-connected but still no power steering. Is there anything else that can be done without visiting the dealer for a hook up to the computer..

    Thanks,

    230K

I heard that if you turn the ignition on and off a few times it resets the comupter in the car. this happened just before one of my lessons when i was learnin to drive and the instructor to it to the garage and that sorted it.

    Hi

Yes problem sorted, reset computer after fitting new airbag and airbag control module. Power Steering was fine then.
