Hi, Just had my V belt replaced and noticed that it says "Made In Japan" on the belt. This was done at an Audi garage. Can anyone shed any light on whether this a genuine Audi part or a quick fix part.

    Cheers in advance.

if the belt says "gates" on it then its a genuine one, they wouldn't put a cheap aftermarket belt one so even if it doesn't say that on i wouldn't worry too much anyway

hmm, maybe it was a cheap one, or maybe there is another reason for your 'squeak' like a worn tensioner etc
