I'm currently in the last phase of configurating my new Audi A4 avant and I'm stuck on the wheels issue. Shall I choose the 18" rims with the S-Line chassis that have a 30 mm drop or shall I choose the 19" rims and with that the normal sport chassis with 20 mm drop? You cannot choose 19" rims with 30 mm drop.

I'm leaning towards the 19" rims, they sure look good on the A4.

18" in the first picture and 19" in the second.

It's all a personal choice. I actually really like the 18" design, but plucked for the 19's. I prefer the look of the bigger wheel - fills up the arches more in my opinion.

I do think that the 19" design looks more aggressive!

I have the 18s and the 30mm drop and am pleased. When ordering I would have preferred the 19s but cost prevented it.
One good point with the 18s is they are much quicker to clean than the 19s would be, and as I am still at the proud of my new car stage and hence regulalrly cleaning it this is a real benefit!
I think just choose the ones you prefer the look of, they both look good.

The standard 5 spoke 18s certainly are easy to keep clean. Given that the 30mm drop is free and the wheels will cost you £600ish, would that money be better off spent on other spec maybe? Upgrade the seats, parking sensors, AMI etc? Not an answer for you but perhaps something else to think about.

I have the 19's (which I prefer to the 18's) and the 20mm drop. That said the 18's also look fantastic and from experience will be a LOT quicker to clean than the 19's.

I think if I was struggling with balancing options and budget I would go for the 18's. Luckily for me I managed to squeeze 19's out of my lease budget after a bit of arm twisting.

Thanks for the answers so far. It's really not a cost issue because this will be my car for many years to come and I want to be 110% pleased. The issues are estetics and handling/comfort with the different chassis.

Those wheels look a pleasure to clean!!!

Remind me of my BBS wheels i used to have on my Golf.

Half an hour each wheel with a toothbrush, Happy Days

By the way I think you should go with the 19" wheels I have them on my B7 and they look the business.
