    LoL
duh LOL no s**t sherlock lmao thanks for that LOL only kiddin with u .

as for where best to get your diesel, bp and shell seem to come out tops, although ive used bp and wasnt impressed, shell (standard) diesel seems to run just perfect in mine, could well be different areas as well though..... i would reccomend a fuel additive though, i think that redex has done the trick, but stp, millers, or whatever, obviously they do do some good!

    eshrules,

i just been reading about that redex stuff you use, it seems to be geared towards cleaning and lubricating your engine rather than boosting performance, where as the millers sport 4 diesel claims to boost cetane by 4 points and there for boosts performance while also claiming to clean and lube your engine too.

the bottles states that it takes a bit of running in about 250 miles, see if it work as i just filled up and added a good few shots of millers to my tank.

Do you have to order this Millers over the web? I have been looking in my local car shops and can't find it at all! Plenty of Redex etc but no Millers!

kool, well that would explain the price difference, let us know how you find it mate, will be interesting to see how you fair with it. touch the hard stuff , redex seems to be doing my golf just fine, but if millers is even better would be worth the extra couple o quid

Got to http://www.millersoils.net/index2.html and click on the "stockists" link at the top of the page

Used to work in Bradford and would nip across to Brighouse to get it.

Thanks for the link. It shows a local garage selling it so I bought a 500ml bottle today for £8.50. The garage owner has been using it himself and is very impressed with it.

Just use BioDiesel. It lubes your engine and boosts cetane. At 89.9p a litre it's likely a bit cheaper than millers, redex, or any of that stuff.
I just did a run to Wales on 50% Biodiesel and for the first time ever I got 700 Miles range to show up on my Trip Computer. The car also feels more urgent when I boot it. Don't waste your money on 'additives', just run a better fuel in the first place.

Of course, not all TDi engines can run on biodiesel, for example the 2.0 TDi 140 expressly forbids it.

    I assume additives are acceptable.

i dont think huweth meant to say run your car on biodesel without research first. hes actually posted a sticky on the subject and whilst intersting reading, its up to the individual user whether they choose to use that type of fuel or not.

Huweth.... i read that sticky you put up mate, i gotta admit though, it seems like a bit of a minefield? would you say the hassle you go to has a positive effect, enough so to warrant it?

Well, it's still early days for BD in my car. I like the effect it's had on my engine so far, and I like the feeling of being less polluting when I drive, but if I get a bit repair bill I'll certainly be less happy. Maybe in another 50k miles I'll be able to say if it's worth the hassle. I'm hoping that my car will go on for the hundreds of thousands of miles that other BD users have done in their PD's. *crosses fingers* The total number of miles for users of BD in a PD is into many many millions with only a small number of pump failures, and all of those were put down to using poor BD.
