I just did a run to Wales on 50% Biodiesel and for the first time ever I got 700 Miles range to show up on my Trip Computer. The car also feels more urgent when I boot it. Don't waste your money on 'additives', just run a better fuel in the first place.
I've only just swithched to diesel and I know nothing about BD! I will need to do a lot of research first. In the mean time, Millers it is

i just recieved email back from both shell and bp, regarding data sheets for the diesel they sell.
we all agree the higher the cetane rating the better it combusts, well...

bp ultimate diesel = 55 cetane rating
shell low sulphur = 54 to 58 cetane rating
and shell v power = 56 to 58 cetane rating

now.. both shell diesels have a guarantee'd cetane number of 46 the above are just typicals so it may vary.

only the bp ultimate try to guarantee a 55 cetane rating in there diesel.

so...... my conclusion is that the bp ultimate diesel is the best !!

100 mile to a 1/4 tank?! duno if thats bad... i get about 100 mile to £10, about 130/140 if im doing m.way driving. i darent thrash the hell out of it too often... i dont like big repair bills and thats usually my luck after a 'good' run out

i might consider the bp stuff when i get paid then

When the ultimate diesel came out we g0t a free tank and that sold it to me, I was drivinig a Rover at the time and it didn't half pick up, The cetane rating is guarenteed to be a minimum 55, but then who is going to test it? Cetane is a rating of willingness to combust under compression, not a product.
Looking on other websites, it would seem that a rating of over 50 has no gains anyway.
After using the ultimate fuel I would have said there was a residual benefit, similar to using redex or similar.

POI, reading the manual for my 2.5tdi V6, it states that the car should be run on either diesel or RME fuel aka rapeseed methyl ester aka biofuel,

Biofuel seems the way to go if you can make it, I wouldn't mind paying a 'green' tax so much if the goverment actually used the funds to plant trees rather than using it to fund a very ungreen war in Iraq

hmmm ok well tell you what... im currently on 3/4 of a tank, so ill run my diesel down to as low as (safely) possible. ive tried Tesco's, bp standard diesel and shell with redex, the latter being the best of the 3, so ill run my diesel down, give the bp ultimate a go and see how that runs... if its worse prepare for an a$$ wuppin LOL

Does f*ck all but makes me look very dynamic at the fuel station

thats what i get.... thats the redex that i use, one shot per tank of diesel, seems to help a little bit, ive noticed a visible improvement since using it
