Ipod Dock ~ Any convertors available?

My wife took collection of her 58 plate Golf today, with the RCD300 MP3 stereo, and ipod dock in the armrest.

Only problem is neither of us have an ipod, but different brand players. Is anyone aware of any cables / connectors that plug into the dock port in the armrest and then enable you to plug a different player? i.e. a cable with the ipod connection on one end and then a 3.5mm jack at the other - in effect to turn the dock into an AUX input?

Alternatively, is there any 'modification' that anyone is aware off to remove the dock and use whatever is down there to get what I want? I'm assuming under the trim is a connector of some sort....wondering if I can isolate an audio cable there and 'attach' a 3.5mm jack to it!!??! It's a company car (and its not mine, its hers!) so i'm not too fussed if it doesn't look great, as long as it is functional, and i can reverse at the end of the lease period.

To my knowledge there is nothing avaliable on the market that will convert an iPod connection to a jack connection... You cant even re-wire the port (not that you would want to on a brand new car).

Buy her an iPod! lol
