Now that the charming teenagers don't want to come camping with us anymore, I would probably downsize from an A6 Avant, to an A4 Avant - year or two off yet before the car change.

Hmmm i am looking to get an A3 or A4 1.8T Quattro with low-ish miles they both look so smart and have pace.

sorry to be a trator, but when my a4 dies i think i will get something a bit stupid, like an impreza, evo or a m3... i am convinced that in 10-15 years all but the rich and famous will be priced out of driving so i want to get in there before this happens!

You what a C4S as in 911? god they are HEAVEN you lucky person your budget must be like 10x mine. Ha people are talking about A5's, 911's and S3's and im wanting like 1997-1999 1.8T Quattro models lol. Ohh well i am finding it really hard to find a low miles A4 1997-1999 with the 1.8T Quattro there are a handful on Autotrader and Ebay but they all have spaceship miles.

Ohh man i do love the S8 we have had them at work but they havnt let me drive them. But they have let me Rev it and MY GOD it sounds amazing i think that is the Gallardo engine so amazing performance and the capacity to comfortable seat four.
