    Hi,

I have the AEE 1.6i mk3 Golf which is Single Point Injection and a bit lethargic. can anyone tell me if it is feasible to convert to Multi-Point Injection to bump the power up a bit? what work is involved?

    thanks

I'm not sure about these engines, but I would have thought it would be an impossible task?

Problems I envisage to mention a few:

-New head req. with injector ports
-New management req. (ECU, sensors etc)
    etc etc

Much easier to dop a new engine in or buy a new car I would have thought!!
    But maybe I'm wrong

thanks for that, was the answer i expected! on closer inspection the MPI engine is 1595cc and the SPI (AEE) engine is 1598cc.

does anyone know the engine code of the 1595cc MPI engine? would it be a straight swap? or would it involve suspension/brake mods to make it drivable?

    cheers

Straight swap to get the engine in the bay but lots of wiring (ECU) and plumbing of fuel lines.
