I have a friend calling in who is reporting a faulty Temp gauge reading on the 2002 Passat Est 1.9 tdi pd. Where is the temp sensor and have these been updated like the Audi ones have been to a blue one. Regards Peter

    Hi

Mine is the Passat 2001 (Jan) model 130 PD and the temp sensor was on the left hand side of the engine (looking from the front) at the back - under the vacuum pump and it sits in a alloy housing stub. My mechanic friend did the job and told me that the clip disintegrated on removal - suggest you buy one with the new sensor. My orginal was black - new version is green. Mechanic also mentioned that you have to remove the air pipe for access and it is a one handed job.
