    Hello all,
I recently bought a 1999 V reg 1.8 20V passat and in the process of discovering new things in the car!!!

what is the function of the wiper stalk side switch functions. I tried to play with it, which shows functions like checking temp, mfa1? mfa2?. what is this function and what are the things I can check and use the switch for,
sorry for my ignorance, any help would be highly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Raj.

mfa1 is for single journeys or journeys and small drives within 2 hours, just shows average

mfa2 is running totals up to 9999k

    shows ambient temp
    clock
    average mpg
    constant mpg
    average speed
    trip milage for that journey

i use it so much the stalk will wear out soon!!

that'll be the one on the right not the left by the way

i can only presume (ive done a nightshift and wouldnt get out of bed for anything right now, especially not to check car) its a quick press of the reset button? doesnt say in the manual

On the RIGHT HAND stalk for the wipers, press the upper button once at a time to scroll through the readings.
I think it's a good function, for looking at the best mpg for the style of your driving. ie. constant 50/60 mph on trunk roads brings best fuel usage, as opposed to 20/30 mph stop/start driving in town. I've even changed my route to work going-on my mpg readings !
