Windows and Sunroof.

My 80 has been off the road awaiting work for it's MOT for about a month and when I came to move it today, I found that neither of the front electric windows or the electric sunroof would work. I've noticed before that sometimes they would take their time before working but after a minute they'd be ok, but now, nothing. Any suggestions please???

The relay controls both windows and sunroof, seems a likely culprit? It's tall and double width, mounted under the dash on driver's side (need to remove dash lower panel for access).

Hi Coastie, did you fix your sunroof/windows problem?

I have an 80 Avant B4 Tdi since new. It has had the same problem, maybe once or twice a year, usually when left for a week or two, I figured it might be an overload cutout when the seals were sticking and increased the start current. It was never bad enough or long lasting enough to investigate.

This week the problem has changed character. It is here one mo, gone the next, then back again.

I tried to find the right fuse circuit but cant seem to isolate power from a particular fuse (starting the troubleshooting process).

But did you solve your problem, I see there are some other threads that mention similar issues, so I think this is a common type problem!

I don't have elec windows, but elec sunroof and the same thing. What is the relay and where is it located?
