    Hi All

    I own a 2004 Audi A3 1.9 tdi

Yesterday the oil level sensor alarm came on when driving, so i checked the level and yes oil was required, topped up the oil and went for a cuppa thinking job done, however the oil level lamp on the dash has stayed on, checked the oil again it was fine.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this.

checked the oil level today and its ok so i'm still driving the car with no obvious problems, its running realy well.

If anyone can help please do

This has literally today happened to me for the second time in two months. Replacing the sensor fixed it last time, I'll be taking my car in on tuesday to get it fixed again. Guess I should check the oil weekly to avoid big bills! (Though this is an annoying and costly design fault in the sensor!

Is this just the problem with the Audi A3? and how often do you need to change your oil in your car? I was told that my car will automatically alert me whenever I need to top up the engine oil.. Im confused now
