Does anyone know if I can buy a flip key fob from ebay and programme it to work with my VW Polo GTI 1.6 16V on a 2000 plate.

Also, does anyone know how much VW charge to programme the key and if there any other cheaper alternative to programme this in the east london area.

I have seen these items on ebay and wonder if these key fobs would work.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.

This is a rough guide for VW keys:

The remote function and key blade are simple, with the most troublesome part being the transponder chip for the ignition.

I think your 2000 Polo will have the later type immob, and will need an auto-locksmiths help in sorting the transponder.
