gearbox oil change

my golf 1.6S is now 7 years old and has done 68000

i got my inspection service done today..it was £155 oil and filter etc + £35 for mot
the tech who did the mot said the gearbox was a bit notchy..it has been from nearly new..and that a gearbox oil change was advised...which i thought would be good and it seems to have made some difference which i will no doubt notice more as time goes on..however,

the cost of the gearbox oil change was £155 as well..

does that charge seem ok..they also quoted to change the brake fluid for £65 but i had that done not so long ago

no its manual gearbox...i guess the timing put the cost up...but personally after doing all my own servicing for a number of years i thought it was just as easy to do a gearbox as an engine...
