    Hi,

I'm 18 years old from London and have just recently passed my driving test. The only car I want is the MK5 Golf, I prefer automatic (passed on manual) but everyone is telling me to get a manual!! I'm really confused as I had my heart set on a auto, so can you guys tell me what is the difference between a auto golf? Will it go real amount slower?

    Your help is much appreciated

If i was you i would go for a 1.9 TDI manual if the 2.0TDI is not an option.. The 1.6 FSI unit is still a good A to B engine..

Any car of this type with the manual box will be easier to sell in the future, but if you live in london and will be in heavy traffic everyday i know i would perfer a an auto..... but if you lived up where i do... manual all day long!

    Cheers

    Rick

its as bog standard as you can get. the only optional extra on there is the dsg gearbox, which is a good unit and you will be please with its useability. is it to be your 1st golf?

don't but in too much of a rush, else it could cost a small fortune if you then decide to want to add a few thing that you wish were already on the car.

68000 miles, the cam belt is due at 60k or 4 years, has it been done? if not get it done as part of the deal.
