    Smile 1993 TD Running cold – 28-01-2007,01:14 AM
    Hi, I have a 1993 Passat TD Climatronic (LHD) ever since I bought the car the temp gauge has never really worked. It goes up a little bit but always below 70. And now over the past week or so, it doesn't seem to move at all. (it has been colder outside) don't know if that would affect it.

    I have changed the temp sender unit (green) and tested the gauge in the dash which does function when I test it.

    Any ideas would be really helpful.

    Yep...............change the thermostat, defo source of problem. Just make sure to bleed the cooling system after fitment.

    Hi, thanks for your replies. Have to take my car in to the garage anyway this week, I'll order a new therostat and let you know how I get on. Cheers once again.
