    Hi All,
I am very close to doing the GTi brake upgrade to my GT Tdi140.
I have got basic back ground info off another forum.
Has anyone on this forum done this job?
    Was it worthwhile?
For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, please allow me to explain..
The front disc's are renewed with the larger 312mm Gti discs.. Standards are 286mm I think.
Rear disc's are also renewed with the solid 286mm.. Standards are 255mm I think.
To do this you need the caliper carriers for both the front and the rear..
The actual calipers are exactly the same apart from the Gti ones being RED.
You can use your standard pads but the GTi pads have slightly more friction material area, but they still fit the original caliper as the metal backing is the same.
I intend to do this within the next 2 weeks but I have to confess to buying both front and rear calipers as they look rather pretty in Red Lol..
My brakes are getting ready for being done so I don't feel too guilty in replacing everything.

So once again, has anyone reading this done the conversion and do they reckon its a worth while procedure?

    Simon
