For a couple of days my radiator fan has started to come on as soon as i start up the car when the engine is cold.

It stays on for between 3-5 minutes and then goes off. Engine still gets up to temperature ok.

However today the emissions light has also now come on. Could these be related and does anyone know what may be causing it?

I don’t have access to VAG.com and not sure if i should drive car any further with emissions light on. There is no juddering and all coils have been changed recently.

Car is a 2003 1.8T Quattro Sport (190) BEX engine code

    Thanks

This ended up being a coolant temperature sensor that needed replacing. Not too bad a job, about £25 for parts and half an hour or so to replace.
