Hi a8 tech, you certainly seem to know a great deal more than any of the Audi dealers around!
I am taking delivery of an new 09 Audi Q5 next Sunday and have just found out that the AMI I thought had been added to the order hasn't been and I'm without the one extra my wife wanted! As you can imagine I'm not popular.
The car has the basic Concert stereo without Nav (CAN system if I've read your posts correctly?)
The dealer swears blind I can't get AMI retrofitted but looking at this I think I can?
If it's possible would you mind posting the correct Audi order codes for connection to a iPhone 3G?

    Many thanks in advance

These parts numbers are good for 2009 B8 A4,A5 and Q5 with basic Concert stereo
AMI control unit and cage 8T0 057 785
    Wiring loom 8K0 051 592
Also you will need the glove box with the pre cut ami slot(check etka parts for the correct part number and colour)
    ipod lead 4F0 051 510 K (this includes 3G).
I cant understand why they say it cant as it meets all the criterion for a retro fit and its also published by AUDI AG as approved for retro fit.

If the dealer is unsure then they should send a technical query to audi uk but as far I am aware there is no issue for Q5 at all. Thanks for the Thanks ctv

    hi

hoping to get some quick advice here....i'm taking delivery of a 2009 R8.....i have the CD multichanger and opted to have the Ipod integration fitted. Got a call today from the dealer saying that they can't work together and thus have to choose between them. Have read a couple of comments on forums saying the Ipod link is not great so am unsure what to do.....any comments?

    thanks!

the Audi ipod kit for r8 rnse/concert will not allow both cd multi changer and ipod to work at the same time,as the ipod uses the cd changer connection its disconnected. However the dension 300 kit with the cd retention kit allows both options to be used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK1xQ...eature=related By the way you will have the sd card function built in to the rnse unit so you could store 4g on each the sd card.2009 r8 support the AUX jack in the centre console which could also be used

As A8 Tech says below... go for the Dension kit then.

The Dension kit fitted in my Octavia (okay so it's not an R8! ) works fine. I didn't order the CD retention kit with it though, as it wasn't needed.

    Hi a8 tech,
One final question now the dealer has found out they can order the AMI retrofit, can you give me an idea of the cost of all of the parts and how much labour should be charged and at what rate?

    Really appreciate your help!
    Thanks, CTV
