Auxiliary Heating & Ventilation

Does anyone have this on their car yet? This is shown on pages 110 - 114 in the PDF version of the A4 drivers manual put up by A8Tech some weeks ago.

At the time the manual said it was under development - is this still the case?

These auxillary heaters are usually for really cold climates, where you can pre-heat the interior, and sometimes pre heat the engine to help with coldstarts. Webasto and Eberspacher are two brands of diesel powered heaters that are fitted, i think VAG use Webasto, i've seen it fitted to a VW T5 minibus, where extra heating is needed for the size of vehicle.

I'm not sure if this option would be available to UK buyers. Somebody from Scandanavia or perhaps Germany may have the option and couldanswer your question abaout availabilty.

Thanks for the note. My reason for asking is that my current B6 Passat has a heated screen which is not available on the B8 A4. From reading the manual it appears that this would clear the screen and so much more before you got in the car!
