    Hi,

Simple question really......Ive got a VW Sharan (53) and am replacing the steels for some alloys.
Has anyone got 17"s on their Sharan? And what tyre sizes are they wearing?

I do a few miles so not looking for too low profiles and still want some comfort in the ride.

    Thanks!

For what its worth, and I'm a novice, I switched my VW Sharan Nov 2001 New Shape steels for alloys won on eBay with no difficulty - only cost £158 and all four were in excellent condition. I was careful to get alloys that came off a Sharan and get rims with the correct number of bolts holes - that seemed to be the only constraint as they come with four or five holes. Better still, the tyres that came on the rims were in excellent condition; they were the same radius but wider than my old 205/60R15's, but that is OK providing you do not mix on the same axle and you can always revert as the narrower ones are cheeper. The only downside was that I had to travel 150 miles to pick them up!
    Best wishes,
    Charles.

i upgraded my sharan sl alloys for some of a 04 plate passat exact match...also mk5 golf alloys go straight on it...try here tells you if you can run on 17" without no wheel calibration as bigger or smaller alloys affect your speedo... http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html put in your size now then the size you want it will then tell you if speedo will be affected...hope this helps..
