In the Halfords guide there are two sets for my year but it doesn't say which one is for when.

The reason Halfords mention two sets is because from September 2001 VW changed the wiper arms from the old "hooked" type to the pin jointed type for the aero wiper blades. If you have the old hook type arms wiperblades.co.uk do the slim aero blades for these. If you have a Golf made after 09/01 it will have aero arms.

Just an update in case anyones interested -

I bought the blades from wiperblades.co.uk, the fronts are the 21" and 19" aero blades and the rear is a 13" hook type.

wiperblades.co.uk are very good and I would recommend them
