Was having a snoop around on eBay and came across this
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=005

Wasn't too concerned that the original interior wasn't present as I could replace that slowly.

Anyway, I contacted the seller about docs... apparantly he only had the V5, current MOT and a few recent Service Reciepts. The rest of the docs had been stolen when interior was removed.

I contacted Volkswagen Cardiff (as the CU prefix was around that area). They confirmed that it was an Anni and a well looked after one too

So well looked after that it had had 14 services at VW Swansea @ 10k intervals. The last recorded mileage was around 140k in 2005... NOT THE 53K AS STATED IN THE LISTING (or as can be seen in the pic).

A few weeks ago, I saw a low mileage golf on Autotrader... rang VW and that also had the mileage set back by 10's of thousands.

Is there no way it could be reported?

It's so frustrating people do such things to make an extra couple of quid.

Contact Ebay and report the item/seller... Try and find out the address of the seller and contact Trading standard! I hate Clocked cars! And the people who try and screw someone out of hard earned money

Certainly worrying, especially with a sought after model as the Anni....

I'd definitley be reporting it to ebay and contacting my local TS about it.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know I've got a comprehensive history with mine, to think my brother called me **** for retaining every receipt possible.

Why not ask the seller a question?, after all that becomes part of the advert, (even if that it ends up at the bottom of the page) so ask him why the local VW dealer says the last time that car was serviced it had 140k and not the 50k that he's advertising?

Well, its a question, isn't it?

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to find listed as a Cat C or D write off.

Think about it, if it was your car, and you came back and found the interior missing, you'd be on the phone to the insurance company right away.

    However,

If it was a rusty MK2 Golf and the trim went, you might just replace it and save your insurance premium, but not on a car that new......
