VW Passat 1997 1.8 20V Automatic LHD (Norwegian spec car)

I have just bought a com lead from ebay (I know i should buy the original but times are hard and i have just bought the car and a new house and my boy needs feeding so money is tight!! )

I can read a fault code from the car....says that knock sensor on cylinder 3 has reached limit....anyone know what that means?

Car runs fine by the way...

The real question is that seems to be the only info i can get from the car other than a load of serial numbers.

I am trying to access the comfort system so that i can program a new fob and see why my boot dosn't lock on the cdl (switch in boot is fine, just no power to solenoid)

When i try to access the comfort system i just get an error and it will not connect, only to the main scan do i get a result of any kind.

    Help anyone?

Check the wireing/connections on the central convieniance module. It is located in a black plastic box under the front carpet (Probably drivers side if its LHD)
