Sounds like they didn't cancel the service indicator. You can do it properly through VAGCOM or on the dash insert, the owners manual will tell you how

Yeah you can do it yourself and its detailed in the handbook. It a combination of turning the ignition on and something to do with the trip reset button it Irecall correctly....

did you get the car serviced while it was in for repair?
or was only the repair carried out?
my bora gives it's first indication of a service being due 2000mls before(the warning you have).
if it hasn't been serviced then you shouldn't be resetting it until it has been serviced.
    regards,
    stewy.

changing plugs and leads won't affect oil.
mine has just told me it's due in 2000mls( 2days ago).
gives you time to save up for the oil!!!!
can pm you if you wish when it gives me the next warning(it depends how you drive it),
and you can compare how yours is going?
    regards,
    stewy.

Depends how many miles you do. For a taxi driver that warning could be a month of driving however for me its about 4-6months to cover 2000 miles!

Mine came on a few weeks ago, the same 2000 miles which is just the norm.

Its basically to provide auitable advanced warning, gives time to book the car into the garage, save up funds etc.

There is no reason why it cannot be serviced sooner than that, mine is due in this saturday and there is still another 400 miles to go, but dont want to chance it with a remap!

It sounds like a normal service warning light, to be honest i think a car should be serviced once a year anyway, regardless of the mileage.
