Engine Management System Light

Damn thing is coming on and off - normally at about week/2 weeks interval - over last 6 weeks. Went to the Audi dealership and they came up with three things - temp sensor malfunctioning, air intake to manifold (or something similiar - the explanation was not in English) flap defective and also that some hoses also feeding the manifold were old. Car is a 1.8SE A4 - 8 years Old X reg. Total spent so far = £350. Net result (after they had told me they had tested the car when fixed) was 2 miles down the motorway - light back on.

Key concern (other than the dealership not knowing what is wrong with it) is that I need the car to drive 800 miles to Spain next week. It drives fine - its just the yellow light. I have breakdown insurance in Europe - should I just go for it?

sorry no advice to give , other than - this section of the forum is for B8 A4 so most folks here busy drooling over new cars , you might get more info posting in the section for older A4's
