Hi Djt100, I have a 2006 VW Polo my ABS sensor light is also on. As soon as I plug the VAG it clears the fault only for me to drive off for the light to re- appear. I have changed the ABS Speed sensor which cost me aroud £40-£50 from dealers, I have also changed the passenger side drive shaft & CV Boot also including a new ABS sensor (The Ring around the CV boot). My last choice is to change the ABS pump. I would advice you to like G40jon has stated clear the sensor. Also check the ABS speed sensor is not damaged,as well as the ABS sensor (the rings has like teeth make sure they are all in tact).
