My mirror does not dim anymore even if the green led is on.
I know that front interior light switches (when turned on) and rear gear turn off the dimming (green led still on).
Switches and connector inside the light chassis seem ok.
The mirror was changed some time ago, but the problem remained.
So it is not a mirror fault.
What I know is that when the mirror was not working, after turning on one the interior lights, it worked again...very strange.
Now this trick does not work anymore.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Solved!
Maybe it was the ceiling lights connector not well inserted or one of the three light switches.
When I moved (just little moves) the cable, I heared a little buzz from the left side of the engine: maybe a short circuit...
Then I moved the three switches (little moves too).
I turned on my rear mirror.

    Now it works! Wonderful!

I think that one of the element I moved maybe it was not wel connected, so a disable signal was sent to the mirror.

I hope this thread be usefull to anyone.

When I went to my car dealer, he changed the mirror and he said he controlled cables...but still issues were present.
My guaratee is ended since last february.
I don't want to think how much money I should have spent to check again everything!!!

Have a nice day to everyone!

    Stefano.

    Have I missed something?

If your car is 2006 it would have a 3 year warranty, how did it expire last Feb

Here in Italy, Volkswagen gives only 2 warranty years.
Maybe VW thinks they are enought, I don't think so...

    Regards,
    Stefano.
