i have just got some rs8 style alloys and have fitted them on my car perfectly with no problems the only thing is i noticed some white markings on them but its not as if it has been curbed more like something stuck on them like polish??? i will post a picture this evening and it would be a great help if someone could tell me what it is so i can get it sorted. dont really want to have the wheels refurbed because its high polished alloy and dont think it would be too cheap to do. thanks steven

photo would help but sounds like corrosion, do marks look like little white worms?
most alloys are painted but polished/diamond cut are lacquer over bare metal, and if lacquer gets chipped corrosion turns white and spreads along underneath, not a lot you can do other than refurb except keep them as clean as possible
had a set of ats cups on a mk1 golf gti which had same problem so i decided to remove lacquer and hand polish them, took about 8 hours each, not something id recommend!!!!!

S8 alloys complete with corrosion, still looking good on the car though, lowering can only improve the looks

cheers, is there any way round the corrosion or is it a case of refurbing the wheels with it on. they are not even that old how would it have happened..............also do you no if its worth modding the engine even tho its done 150k miles. wheres your car?

If theengine is in good shape there is no reason why not.

And the rims will need a refurb for sure or paint them your self.
