A6 2.5TDi Avant Quattro, 2000 . My interior light now stays on permanently when the switch is set in the middle position - front and rear domes and reading lights. I can switch them off with the front and rear master switches. I don't think it's a door actuator because the little picture in the middle of the dashboard isn't showing the doors as open. My first guess is that the delay timer has failed. Does anyone know where it is in the car, and whether there's any way of testing it out? Regards, Pete

PLease chaeck you front passenger footwell is totally dry. If you lif the mats and ther is condensation under them of the carpet is atall damp them you may have water in your CCM caused by blocked drain holes in your Plemum Chamber. Regards Peter

Excellent suggestion, particularly when you consider that I had a new windscreen fitted 2 weeks ago.

No condensation under the mats, and no dampness in the carpet though. It's started working again this morning too, so this looks like one of those problems which is going to take a while to troubleshoot.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a CCM?

    Kind regards,

    Pete

Convenience Control Module. It resides in a recess in the floor pan under the passengers footwell. Are you happy with the new screen. I had mine changed and the it is less tinted then the original. Regards Peter

Thanks. If it starts happening again I'll have the carpets up and see what's going on.

The new screen seems fine, and I hadn't noticed any less tint. It also has the major advantage of not having a foot-long crack across the driver's eyeline! Mine came from RAC Auto Windscreens, but I guess they all use the same supplier.

Thanks for your prompt and helpful suggestions, it is much appreciated. This is a great forum.

    Kind regards,

    Pete
