    Hi to everyone!
I have troubles with my internal light-dimming rear mirror.
Sometimes it does not dim even if it is turned on (at night obviously).
One time I pushed one of the three light buttons on the roof (front), then the mirror started working again.
The light buttons and the rear gear insertion deactivate dimming function.
So I thing there is something not working on one of the three light button.
I would like to unmount the ceiling light but I fear to broke it.
How do I safely unmount it?

    Please help!
    Thanks.

    Stefano.

    Hi Stefano

Have you tried doing a search for this? I'm sure it's been done before on here.

    Thanks Quatrelle!

I was able to manage the unmount reading a post for audi.

    So, I opened the chassis.
Now, the trouble is to fix my problem with the internal rear mirror.
    It is a photochromic one.
It does not dim anymore even if the green led is on.
I know that internal light switches (when turned on) and rear gear turn off the dimming (green led still on).
Switches and connector inside the chassis seem ok.
The mirror was changed some time ago, but the problem remained.
So it is not a mirror fault.
What I know is that when the mirror was not working, after turning on the interior lights, it worked again...very strange.
Now this trick does not work anymore.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    I found instruction here:

    https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...light=interior

I don't know if it is for audi, maybe I was wrong.
In my passat, first, I removed the transparent light cover with a screwdriver.
Then to remove the other parts is quite easy.
Be carefull in removing the cover.

    bye!

had a problem with mine, got it replaced under warranty.

as i got the car in the summer, it wasn't until winter that it became obvious. ask the dealer to check it. might be worth not mentioning that you have been fiddling with it though
