'02 A3 1.6 stuttering at 55-60mph

Hey there, help please !

My A3 is stuttering at cruising speed. It's ok on and off the throttle, just when revs are constant. I replaced split intake and breather hoses. It was serviced 6k ago, air filter and plugs look ok, used a bit of oil, never did so before.

I suspect a dirty MAF sensor, engine seem to be running hotter but temp gauge is normal. Uses more fuel than before. Don't have a VAG reader so haven't got it plugged in yet but trying to do all simple things before i open my empty wallet.

Anybody got any ideas? Dealers are useless in ireland...

I had something similar on my 2001 Octavia 1.6 (which may have the same engine as yours). I had the engine electronics light go on which indicated a HT lead failure in cylinder 2 when my mechanic interroageted it with VAG-COM. It may be that yours is similar.

Thanks for the help folks.... sorted now, new bosch plugs, cleaned and resistance checked leads, removed and cleaned MAF sensor....
