    Probably the easier way to install FW lights is to take the feed from the roof lights, but the way you described is definitely very close to OEM and less "ghetto".

    4. Rear FW fitted to seat with seat out of car
    5. Seat Connection showing male battery pack connector integrated into seat wiring loom

    Took my time doing this retro-fit - over a weekend.
