    Hi,
    The econ button is perminently illuminated on my heater control panel and I can`t switch it off thus my aircon is not working. Can anyone help ?

    Have you tried pressing the "auto" button? Although I have not used it in my Seat for a while, If I remember correct I have to press the "auto" button to switch the AC back on...

    I have tried as you suggested but even with the auto switched on the econ light is still there

    When was the last time the system was serviced? it may be low on gas, which will make it stay off to protect the system..

    A service and regas should cost aroun £50'ish

    Mine was doing that. I got a new high pressure sensor (about £50) as they fail and that is a common reason for the econ light staying on.

    However, I also got the system checked and re-gassed and now it's fine. I'll try and get a refund on the unused part!

    It's interesting as the garage computer gave a High Pressure Sensor fault but apparently this message can be either due to a faulty sensor or (as in my case) low refrigerant levels.

    You can buy air con regas kits from halfords for about £40.

    Its very easy to do.

    The kit comes with a pressure gauge that will tell you if you need to fill the gas.

    I also had this issue on my car due to low gas. Once I filled it up it was fine again.
