Hi I have an A4 2006 2.0 TDI Manual 66000 miles and out of warranty. I am getting a vibration through the cabin at about 1600 rpm - it happens when in neutral and when driving. An Audi Specialist suggests that it may be the dual mass flywheel but can't be certain.

    Has anyone else experienced similiar?

    Any ideas please

    Hi,

I have a similar problem with my A4 quattro 170 HP.
I have vibrations in the cabin when in neutral. Can feel the vibrations in the wheel, pedals and in the chair too.
The guys from Audi service said that this is normal behavior for A4.

    Can somebody confirm that ?

i had this problem too with only 24000 miles, its not supposed to happen, mine was under warranty and had a new clutch, flywheel, injectors, and tandem fuel pump, still not fixed so dealer swapped the car. I have since found out that it may be the egr system that causes this problem.

My A4 is under warranty until November. Tha car has only 45000 km. The guys from the audi service said that is normal to this model to have this vibrations. I don't think so !!!
Can you please explain what is the egr system ?! Maybe it will help to raise this problem in service.
    Thank you.

The exhaust gas recirculation, it puts a bit of exhaust gas into the inlet charge at idle and low throttle applications, its an emissions thing some people remove the whole system, which i myself will do if i get a hint of this problem in future

Howdy. I've a 2005 1.9tdi A4 Saloon and as above there a really noticeable vibraion when she's idling. It stops as soon as the engine revs, even slightly and theres absolutely no problem when driving, just whe sitting idling at lights etc. Granted theres always some vibration with diesels but this seems excessive. Any thoughts/ comments ?
    Thanks
