I have just upgraded my front brakes on my TDI 130 to Zimmerman cross drilled discs with EBC green pads. Wow the car stops much better probably the best mod you'll ever do.

I am now looking to get it remapped any recommendations in the West Midlands

did you change the calipers,or just the discs and pads?
would you mind if i asked how much this cost?
was thinking of trying to upgrade mine, but i gather in order to fit larger discs etc. the 16"
wheels would have to go and it begins to sound stupid money.
    regards,
    stewy.

    Hi
The cost supplied and fitted was £190. I didnt change the calipers and the discs are the same size as the standard ones

thanks for that. have been looking through "performance vw" since reading your post
and yes, not a bad price for cross drilled discs/pads.
would be doing the job myself, discs are a doddle, so cheaper still.
does anyone bother doing the rears?
at first glance most prices were for fronts.
still, one step at a time, mustn't get carried away!!!
thanks again for the info mate,
    regards,
    stewy.

From what I'm told the disks/calipers from the Audi TT fit the Bora perfectly, assuming you have large enough rims on the car, so that could be another option?

There is some one on ebay that does the complete TT kit for golf 4 and bora.

Ive uprated the back brakes on mine, reason being the back end was coming round braking for corners, now ive sorted the rears its much more balanced and the handbrake works better too

I would highly recommend doing a 312mm brake upgrade when you do a brake upgrade... there are a few people on ebay doing kits

I've got a 312mm upgrade for my Mk3 VR6 (not yet fitted) should be awesome stopping power, as far as the rears are concerned unless you venture to an aftermarket upgrade, I think that for the 2wd cars you could use the Mk4 V5 rears (bigger & vented) but I'm not sure what's involved. If it was just a case of swapping the discs and beaings onto the standard stub axle, I'd prob. have a go on mine, hopefully somebody could shed some light.

The 312mm kit can be be fitted to Mk2's upwards with VR6 hubs fitted and I think it's a 22mm master cylinder.
