    Hi,

I have been test driving a 04 1.9tdi 130bhp with 72K on the clock, the dealer is going to repair the front screen which has a small 10mm crack, fit new pads and disks all round and tax the car for a year. My brother who is a mechanic is full of doom and gloom over the car. He reckons the turbo will go at 100K and the car is going to be a problem.

The car has a full documented service history, it was owned by a large building society and if there was a problem it was fixed. The interior is spot on with only one fault with the drivers seat showing very slight wear on the leading edge of the seat. But to top it all off it is £7K which I find great.

    What do you think?

i think your being ripped off £7000 for a 04 with only 74k on the clock there should be no amount of wear to the seats at all!
mines done 125k and theres not a mark anywhere.

I had a 2001 130 tdi sport for 3 years and did over 75,000 miles and sold the car on with 133,000 miles on the odo with no turbo problems at all. (trade in got 2750)

The only real fault i had with the car was a snapped electric window operating cable other than that the car was ultra reliable.

It was an ex fleet car, full service history and all the mileage was motorway based.

Take what your brother says with a pinch of salt as long as it is serviced regulary it will last.
If it ain't broke leave it alone!!!
