    hi,
im new to this forum. i have a a6 2.5i tdi? i accidentally put in about £65 of petrol init instead of diesel. i broke down and the AA took me to a nearest garage who tried to start/find the problem.

after a while of looking into the engine (the mechanic) he started fumbling in the boot, he cant start the car but engine does turn.

he managed to empty the unleaded and put in about 15 litres of diesel. the engine turns but wont start. im now stranded about 120 miles from home.

when i left him he said the fuel pump wont take diesel into engine and dont know whats wrong??? (time now is 12.15am) and come back at 10am in the morning.

QUESTION IS ? 1. do i take take car 2 audi dealership
    2. how much will it cost?
    3. do i take it home to london to local mechanic or dealer
    4. how long will the repair take if i stay here
    6. would it be covered in the warranty
    7. are there any dealers in north london or mechanics you would recommend

Thank you in advance and await your replies

If you did not drive long enough, chances are that the injector pump is ok, just empty the tank, fill to the brim with clean diesel, replace the fuel filter, and try to bump start the car. I found it easier to start a v6 tdi by towing but, your particullar model has a lift pump in tank, just make shure the fuse to that is not burnt. There is more dammage if you put diesel in a petrol car, thats why the nozzle is bigger on the diesel pumps. Tell your mechanic to bleed the enjectors of air and the car should start eventually ! Failling that, i live in New Southgate, N. London and if you could get the car to me i would have a look... Regards, Chris- 077 899 12128.
