    Hello,

I have a P plate 1.8SE and when i accelerate hard i can smell what i think is petrol. The exhaust is blowing so i know that needs looking at, could this be the cause of the smell?....The car seems to be using alot of fuel.

Are there any simple checks i can carry out to find out whats happening, where the smell is coming from and why the consumption is so high?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Matt

Could be if the car is over fueling (especially if you hoof it a bit) then you will smell it more with the hole being in the exhaust.

I would get that replaced/repaired then reassess it.
    One German, Two Italian.
    It's a Mercedes Benzzzz though
