    Hi all,

Recently had the car booked in to have the rear springs changed as they had both snapped. One spring had only lost half inch or so the other a bit more. SInce getting it back from the garage I now have approx 3-4 inches of clearance from the tyre to the arch.

I flagged this up with the garage and they told me they are exactly the same springs as removed, height and diameter. If they are the correct spring how comes my car sits 2-3 inches higher than all other A4 tdi's I have looked at in photo's on the web.

Confused and not happy, the car drives ok except the headlights are pointing straight to the floor, I apprechiate they will be that bit lower having non-broken rear springs but it honestly has the same gap wheel to arch as my neighbours Landrover, can anyone advise?

Take the whell off the car and have a look at the spring,

Each OEM spring has colour marks on it detailing the type.. ie.. 2 green lines and a blue line, or a purplle or red..

Take a look and ensure you have the same springs fitted all round.

argh ok, does the colour indecate the height or model? I have been to a german car parts place today and bought yet another set of springs made by a german company, I was planning or trying to replace the springs tomorrow to see if it sits different.
I thought maybe the springs fitted were for the Estate or Quattro having that bit more weight on the rear?
May I add I've only had the rear springs changed, the fronts are fine and the height from wheel to arch on the fronts looks about perfect, hence giving me the dragster look overall.
