    Hi all, I'm new here, and a new Audi owner.

    I have just bought a 2001 A4 Avant 1.9tdi (130). I have a few issues with the temp and fuel guages.

    The temp guage rests at H and as the engine warms up goes off the scale (although the engine isn't overheating), and the fuel guage is sat off the top of the scale and doesn't move with the ignition on or off.

    The battery was changed before I bought it and wondered if it is fault caused by the battery being removed, or is it coinsidence and I have a temp and fuel sender fault.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks Paul

    Hi there.
    It sounds to me that someone has had the clocks apart and not put the pins back in the correct position when reassembling.

    Well the temp guage has sorted itself out. The more I used the car the further back the guage would return until and it is working fine now. The fuel guage has also managed to get itself all the way back, but now doesn't go up when I put the ignition on. It sits and shakes for a bit but nothing happens, so I think it may be a bit stiff and hopefully with use will free itself off and be ok.

    @avantdiver

    i have the same problem but only with fuel gaudge. it isn't solved with me. somethimes show exactly how much fuel is in the tank and sometomes just shaking.
    i didn't find the solution. if u find pls pm me or post here.

    p.s. i tested all the gaudges with vagcom and everything works fine. so probably the problem is in the fuel tank.
