Hi, I'm planning on replacing my loved 2.6 V6 Coupe with a deadly s4 - 99 to 2000 model. Anything I should watch out for? eg. turbo problems, gear box issues etc. I think most of the models on the market have around 70-80k miles. Appreciate your insite / experiences. cheers

If you haven't taken the plunge yet then I'd plough through the forums at http://www.rs246.com and when you find a car you like get MRC Tuning (http://www.mrctuning.com/) to give it a healthcheck.

Thanks. Will check out MRC Tuning. Managed to find a decent S4 - absolute beaut...but recently noticed spongy brakes, which I'm hoping dealer warranty will cover.

For such a quick car the brakes are pretty pants. Quite a few people upgrade them to the RS4 brakes but from memory you need to replace the wheels too in order to squeeze in the larger discs and calipers so it's not a cheap upgrade. As you say, see what you can get sorted under dealer warranty and take it from there.

    Hope you're enjoying it otherwise.

hmmm. A tempting upgrade. Thanks for the heads -up. Will see what I can get done on the free and then explore other options. Else, I cant wipe the smile off my face, its such a beast under the very modest styling.
