I think that the boost control valve/ solenoid on my v6 tdi is playing up. The engine struggles to reach 3500 rpm. I can feel the turbo pulling lower down the rev range but is missing out on the power at the top. If i relax on the throttle a bit, it seems to surge a bit. I have disconnected the vacuum pipe to the actuator and freely spun the engine up to 4500, but when connected again, feels reluctant.

Any ideas on the cost of a new valve, or can the existing one be cleaned?

    Help appreciated, thanks.

If its the same or similar to other boost control valves, One site I looked at said to clean it.#
You cant. Believe it to be coded N75 valve on most. Think some people have sourced one at about £15

Hi, for a v6 tdi boost valve expect to pay about 50 quid for a genuine Pierburg one...
