    Hi All,

Anyone have experience of the different leather seat material? Is the Valcona really worth the extra ~£400

I have sat in a showroom car that was done in Valcona and if the difference is "only" 400 quid then I would seriously consider it.

Have gone for Alcantara myself as on those hot summers days I hate driving in shorts with my legs sticking to the seats!

The car I sat in had two tone Valcona - I am not sure if this is standard on all Valcona leather options - but if it is, it looked better for a start, secondly the stitching stood out (white on black and some kind of vanilla colour I think it was), and the leather itself just felt a notch or two higher quality wise.

One of the reasons I'm asking is that there seem to be lots of problems with leather seats on the A5's.

Just been reading on another forum how the leather (apparently both Milano and Valcona) in the A5's is sagging lots.

Audi technical UK are apparently still waiting a response from Audi Germany on this issue. Was hoping A4 is not affected.

I picked up my A4 on June 21. Up to now I've done 1800 miles. I chose Valcona just on a 'feel' test in the dealers.

Yes, on the driver's seat (all except a couple of hundred miles have had just me in the car) the leather is sagging.

Thanks for the tip on the A5 (I’ve now seen a few on the road, don’t they look gorgeous?). I’m going to contact Audi Technical as well.

Have you read anything negative about the Alcantara seats?

I've jut taken delivery of an ex-demo 2.7 se which has done 4000 miles. I'm not sure what the leather is (its got the climate seats if that makes any difference) but it does look as if it is sagging for the amount of wear that its had. Wish I'd looked more closely when I picked it up.

I have done 1200 miles with milano leather on standard seats.

I have noticed that the sides (wings) are starting to crease already.

So considering that we are not 'wide' people we are not sitting on this part of the seat, they shoud not be taking much wear.

I presume 'sagging' is much more serious?

here is a link to the thread that kitoclick might have been referring to about A5 and leather seats sagging.

Some of the pictures look really quite concerning.
